Jacob is a former Infantry soldier and wildland firefighter. He is an amateur muay thai fighter, a passionate science fiction fan, and a crossword puzzle fanatic. He has been a certified CrossFit instructor since 2009. In 2018, he participated in FitOps, a charity dedicated to helping veterans become fitness professionals and is now a CVFO (Certified Veteran Fitness Operative). His motto, “To Strive, to Seek, To Find, and Not to Yield” is taken from Tennyson’s poem “Ulysses” and is a cornerstone of his personal ethos.
